Obituary: Jack J. Hunter
Jack J. Hunter, 89, died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 12, 1925 to Jesse and Ruth (Swanson) Hunter of Rhinelander. He served in the Army during World War II from May 8, 1943 until Jan. 22, 1946. He served 31 years on the Rhinelander Police Force and became Rhinelander’s first detective. Jack is survived by his four children, Dawn (Tom) Francis, Dan (Jackie) Hunter, Chuck Hunter and Cindy (Skip) Dulin; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Richard (Judy) and Dennis (Pat); a sister, Marlene Tushoski; neices, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; and sisters, Joan and Jean. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home with the Rev. Rebecca Niese officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Home cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
