Viewpoint: Writer takes issue with representatives voting record
Editor:
Rep. Rob Swearingen, you have earnestly earned The “Outstanding Misrepresentation Award” for showing true courage in the face of reason by not listening to the people most affected by the proposed mine for the Penokees. Your vote to continue defunding of public education was a stroke of love for private charter entrepreneurs. Let’s not forget your staid silence instead of speaking up for those in your district who needed the federal funds for Medicaid expansion.
You may rail against the hand out given to those you consider undeserving, but when it comes to political money through tax cuts doled out to voters in anticipation of the 2014 election you earn cheers of “stellar” and “bravo.” Cherish the honor Rep. Swearingen. When the thoughtless policies you so loyally voted for come home to roost, you will suddenly realize you need to spend time with your family. Your fluffy goodies of beloved mileage checks and insurance coverage granted to you by the working people who voted you in to win this “Misrepresentation Award” will be gone.
Thanks, Rep. Swearingen. In the words of George W. Bush “you are doing one heck of a job, Robby.”
