Seminars to help property owners set for April in Rhinelander
Finding the funds and the know-how to fix up old buildings can be a real challenge. Two free seminars taking place April 10 in Rhinelander by Mark Buechel, Wisconsin Historical Society senior preservation architect, can help home and commercial property owners navigate through their options.
“How Not to Ruin Your Old House,” will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Rhinelander District Library’s basement meeting room, and will cover basic mistakes homeowners make with siding, windows, masonry, insulation and drainage.
“Show Me the Money: Rehabilitation Tax Credits for Commercial Property,” will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. with time for questions afterwards. This event will be held at the Rhinelander City Hall, Council Chambers, second floor, and covers new changes in the Wisconsin State Tax Code that increased tax credits for rehabilitation of income-producing property. Registration requested.
Both meeting sites are handicap accessible.
Registration available online at www.suretomeet.com, event search zip code 54501, or contact Theresa at the city of Rhinelander Inspection Department at 715-365-8606.
Both presentations are sponsored by the city of Rhinelander Historic Preservation Commission.
