The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce has hired a new executive director.

Dana DeMet, a Harshaw resident, joins the chamber after serving two years as administrator and later business manager at Palantir.net, a Chicago based web development firm.

As director, DeMet will lead efforts to support and promote the Rhinelander area’s businesses, events and attractions to local residents and potential visitors through a number of events, programs and projects.

“I am thrilled to join the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce and look forward to serving our local community members and businesses,” DeMet said. “We’re doing some great things here in Oneida County, and I want to make sure that continues.”

Rhinelander Area Chamber Board President Brett Aylesworth said he’s excited for the perspective DeMet will provide.

“We know that Dana brings a lot to the table with his enthusiasm, energy and tech world experience,” Aylesworth said. “It’s an exciting time for the business community in Hodag Country, and I think Dana will help us spread that message.”
