Nicolet College Foundation now accepting online scholarship applications

Nicolet College Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for anyone looking to potentially receive funding for the 2014-15 academic year at Nicolet.

Last year, the Foundation awarded more than 250 scholarships ranging in value from $400 to $3,000, said Heather Schallock, Foundation executive director.

“We strongly encourage anyone planning on attending Nicolet next fall to apply for a scholarship,” Schallock said. “We know that paying for college is often a challenge for students and scholarships can go a long way in helping students meet that challenge.”

This year, the Foundation launched an online application process. Paper applications are no longer available.

To help students navigate the new online application process, the Foundation has set up two workshops to assist students. One will be held Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the second Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Both workshops will be held in University Transfer Center 102.

The online application can be found on the Foundation page at nicoletcollege.edu.

Completed applications must be submitted by Friday, March 7.

Nicolet scholarships are available for both new and continuing students enrolling at Nicolet College next fall. Scholarship funds are applied directly to tuition costs.

Students taking nine or more credits per semester can receive between $500 and $3,000 and students taking three to eight credits per semester can receive a $400 scholarship. All applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5.

The $1,000 University Transfer Liberal Arts Program Award, the $1,000 Robert Steger Award, and the $500 Irma Braunstein/Northwoods Branch AAUW Scholarship are also available. They will be awarded to current Nicolet students in the University Transfer Liberal Arts Program who will be transferring to a four-year college or university.

For more information, contact the Nicolet College Foundation office at 715-365-4518, 800-544-3039, ext. 4518; TDD 715-365-4558, ext. 711 relay, or by email at [email protected]
