To mark the third anniversary of the opening of Frederick Place, the Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing, Inc. (NATH) will host a benefit dinner Saturday, Feb. 1 at Quality Inn located at 668 West Kemp Street in Rhinelander. The buffet dinner will be catered by the Rhinelander Café and Pub.

The benefit, which will include door prizes, silent auction and raffles, will help raise funds to operate the homeless shelter. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour and a buffet dinner will be served starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the Rhinelander, Eagle River, Minocqua and Trigs stores and also at Forth Floral, Coffee Beans and Frederick Place in Rhinelander. Individual ticket prices are $40. Space is limited, so it is important to purchase tickets early.

This year, NATH will offer special packages for businesses, civic groups, faith communities or families to purchase tickets for tables of eight persons.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to bring friends and families for a night of fun while supporting those who are less fortunate.

The Gold Package ($500) includes eight dinner tickets, reserved table, $100 package of raffle tickets, three chances in the “sponsor only” raffle for a $200 and $100 gift certificate, and recognition in the banquet program and on the NATH website.

The Silver Package ($325) includes six dinner tickets, $50 package of raffle tickets, two chances in the “sponsor only” raffle for a $200 and $100 gift certificate, and recognition in the banquet program and on the NATH website.

The Bronze Package ($175) includes two dinner tickets, $50 package of raffle tickets, a chance in the “sponsor only” raffle for a $200 and $100 gift certificate, and recognition in the banquet program and on the NATH website.

Since opening Jan. 31, 2011, Frederick Place has provided more than 11,000 nights of emergency shelter for 296 men, women and children. Frederick Place offers emergency, temporary shelter for families and individuals from Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Oneida and Vilas counties.

The annual operating costs for the shelter are $212,000. These costs include 24-hour staff salaries, case management, food, utilities, supplies, equipment and maintenance. For more information about the anniversary dinner or about Frederick Place, call Tammy Modic, executive director, at 715-369-9777.
