JCPenney store in Rhinelander among 33 to close nationally
JCPenney has announced that the company will close 33 stores nationwide, and the store in Rhinelander is among those on that list. According to a press release issued by JCPenney, the move is expected to save the company about $65 million, but the closures will result in the loss of about 2,000 jobs.
Inventory in the affected stores will be sold over the next few months. Final closings are expected to be completed by early May.
JCPenney stores in Fond du Lac, Janesville, Rice Lake and Wausau will also close.
