Fatal crash in Cassion

Town of Cassian  –  On Tuesday January 14, at approximately 1:16 p.m., the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a vehicle crash involving a passenger car and a semi-tractor/propane tanker on Highway 51 and Fernwood Road in the Town of Cassian.  
Preliminary investigation indicates that a southbound passenger vehicle lost control and entered the northbound lane of traffic and struck a northbound propane tanker.  As a result of the crash the two occupants in the passenger vehicle and the occupant of the propane tanker were pronounced deceased at the scene.  The two occupants in the passenger vehicle were identified as Justine G. Ringberg, female, age 22 of Bayfield, Wisconsin and Raquel E. Nunez, female, age 22 of New York, New York.  The occupant of the propane tanker was identified as Jeremy J. Ritchie, male, age 22 of Minocqua, Wisconsin.  
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and Oneida County Medical Examiner’s Office are continuing their investigation into the events surrounding vehicle crash.
