Oneida County Beekeepers Association presents a Beginning Beekeeping Class
The Oneida County Beekeepers Association will be having its annual beginning beekeeping class Feb. 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
It will be held at CAVOC, the Cedric A. Vig Outdoor Classroom, 4321 South Shore Drive. Some of the topics covered will be hive setup, installing bees, supplies needed, hive inspection, bee life cycle and health, and harvesting honey.
Presenters include Chris Hansen, owner of Hansen Honey Farm, current president of OCBA and beekeeper of 10 years, Wayne Gerdts of Honey Bee Ware and Moria King, hobby beekeeper and previous president of OCBA.
The cost of the class is $35 per adult or $45 per couple. This includes materials, lunch and refreshments. Deadline for registration is Jan. 20.
