Wisconsin Public Service warns hunters during broken tree limb clean-up

With power restoration efforts completed following the recent windstorms and with thousands of deer hunters taking to the woods this weekend, Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) is reminding everyone there may still be potentially unsafe situations existing involving electrical equipment, power lines and broken tree limbs. If hunters come across this unsafe scenario, they should contact WPS at 800-450-7240.

Safety remains an ongoing concern when hunters try to remove those fallen tree branches or debris from areas near “live” power lines. Broken limb removal must be done using extreme caution and is best left for tree service professionals. WPS wants outdoor enthusiasts to avoid all accidental contacts with “live” power lines.

For more information, call WPS Community Relations Leader Leah Van Zile at 715-369-7179.
