Support local businesses on small business Saturday
When spending money at a small locally owned store 52 percent of it stays in the local community, that’s according to a 2012 study done by the American Booksellers Association.
On Saturday Nov. 30 think small and shop local as part of Small Business Saturday.
Small Business Saturday is a nationally supported initiative. The idea is to encourage and financially support small, local businesses during one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. These businesses often get eclipsed by big box retail and e-commerce on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. So Saturday is a day to shop small-shop local.
“Our locally, owned, unique, small businesses help give Rhinelander its distinct personality,” Rhinelander Chamber Executive Director Lara Reed said. “By remembering to shop local on Small Business Saturday and throughout the holiday season you are helping to support your friends, family and neighbors. They can in turn continue the cycle. This is what keeps our community vibrant and strong.”
