Rhinelander swim club gets off to a great start

The Rhinelander Swim Club started off its season with a second-place finish at the Lakeland Sprints Invitational Nov. 9. Sixty-nine of the clubs 111 members made the trip to Minocqua to participate.

All the returning swimmers took time off in at least of one of their individual events. Maria Heck (9) took 10.21 seconds from her 25 yard breaststroke for a time of 28.26 seconds. Trevor Marvin (11) dropped 9.82 seconds from his 25 yard freestyle for a time of 21.61 seconds and 9.69 seconds from his 25 yard backstroke for a new time of 31.07 seconds. Annalyse Schoppe (8) took off 9.88 seconds from her 25 yard breaststroke for a time of 30.55 seconds. Liana Teter (9) took off 10.17 seconds from her 25 yard freestyle for a time of 19.66 seconds and 12.24 seconds from her 25 yard butterfly for a new time of 25.89 seconds.

RSC put together 19 relay teams for this meet. All the teams placed in the top 10 which included five first place finishes.

RSC will travel to Antigo Nov. 16 for their first conference meet of the season.
