Retired Educators to host Wisconsin Retirement System seminar

The Rhinelander Area Retired Educators’ Association will host a free seminar for participants of the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Rhinelander High School-Tier Classroom.

The focus will be the Wisconsin Retirement System benefits and options. The seminar is geared to all WRS participants (whether in education or not) who are planning to retire or beginning to think about it. The presenter from the Wisconsin Retired Educators’ Association (WREA) will be

Roger Byers, a former benefit specialist with the Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF). WREA, which was organized in 1951, is a statewide association of more than 15,000 members. It is recognized for protecting the public pension fund and promoting public education.

With a central office in Middleton, WREA maintains a strong lobbying presence by representing views of retired educators. Registration is not required.
