Blood Drive planned in Rhinelander

A Community Blood Drive will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Rhinelander.

The drive will be held at Nicolet Area Technical College, in the Auditorium of the Learning Resource Center.

“If you’re looking for a way to help others, please consider donating blood,” Jan Hadsell of the Community Blood Center said. “Every year, four million hospital patients need transfusions, and this wouldn’t happen without volunteer blood donors. The realization that an hour of your time and a pint of your blood can help someone in such an important way is pretty amazing.”

Advance donation appointments are recommended, and may be made by calling the Community Blood Center toll-free at 800-280-4102 or visiting www.save3lives.org. Walk-in donors are welcome, but scheduling an appointment helps ensure a fast and convenient process.

Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental permission), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health and bring a photo ID. Donors are encouraged to eat a regular meal and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating.
