Now through October, the YMCA of the Northwoods will begin accepting applications for the Fit For Life six-week program.

This structured weight loss competition features weekly boot camps, workouts, challenges, lectures and weigh-ins. This program is a preview of the 12-week program. The six-week program will begin Oct. 30 and run to Dec. 13 with boot camps taking place 5:30 p.m. Mondays and 5:30 a.m. Wednesdays. The program will also feature wellness educational lectures on Monday evenings to cover lifestyle changes beyond the wall of the Y.
Participants will also weigh-in at the end of every week.
Through this program, participants are given the tools to make successful long-term changes in their health and well-being.
“The FIT FOR LIFE program has created results, and by offering a six-week program, it allows participants to test the waters and find out what all the talk is about,” Chris Cook, wellness director, said. “It can also be used as a tune up for the extensive 12-week program or just a program to help get us all through the holiday season. Even though it’s a weight- loss program, it’s more giving you the building blocks to create a healthy lifestyle routine and build relationships that last well beyond the timelines of the program.”
Registration forms are available at the YMCA of the Northwoods and online, and are due Tuesday Oct. 29, 2013. Enrollment is limited to 25. To learn more about the Fit For Life program, contact 715-362-9622 ext. 113 or visit www.ymcaofthenorthwoods.org.
