Picking for Pantries

More than 50 people came out to the University of Wisconsin Agricultural Research Station in Starks recently to pick potatoes. The “Pickers” were allowed to take a few pounds home to eat, but the bulk of the potatoes (almost six tons) were collected for future distribution to customers of the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry (RAFP). This photo captured some of the volunteers while working to harvest the potatoes. RAFP is very appreciative for the annual donation from the Research Station and for the continuing efforts of the volunteers.
