Help reduce hunger by support Food For Kidz

On Saturday, Oct. 19 the Lakeland community will undertake its sixth annual “Food for Kidz” meal packing event. The goal is to package 150,000 meals for hungry children around the world. Each meal costs 15 cents, which means that to reach our meal packing goal $20,000 needs to be raised.

We are seeking “table sponsors” to help us reach our goal. For a $500 contribution you can sponsor one of our 30 packaging tables with the name of your organization displayed at the table. In addition, your organization’s name will be prominently displayed on a large banner at the entrance to the activity room at LUHS.

If you are interested in sponsoring this worthwhile activity, call John or Susie Breiten at 715-686-7570.

All donations are welcome and checks may be mailed to Food for Kidz, 1061 Keppler Rd., Winchester, WI 54557. Checks should be made payable to: Food for Kidz.

Volunteer Opportunities
Join with family, friends and neighbors on the morning of Oct. 19 for two hours to assemble vitamin and mineral enriched meals that will make a difference in the lives of children in the United States and throughout the world.

Sign-up sheets are located at the Minocqua Chamber Commerce and area churches. Sign up for the 8 to 10 or 10 a.m. to noon shift. If you’re unable to sign up, you are still welcome to arrive the morning of Oct. 19 to participate.
