“When you give to the Y Horizon Endowment, your gift will have a meaningful, enduring impact on our local community for future generations”, Mel Davidson chair of the newly established Horizon Endowment, said.

At the Y, strengthening community is their cause. The Y serves three crucial areas of focus to help individuals, families and communities learn, grow and thrive.
The Y is for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. In the fourteen years since the Young Men’s Christian Association of the Northwoods was founded in our community, thousands of our community members have personally benefitted from the Y’s commitment to strengthening community.

“The Horizon Endowment was founded to support our mission and help secure the financial future of our Y,” Laurie Schlitt, interim CEO, said. “Your investment in the Horizon Endowment will enable the Y to support capital development, capital equipment, maintenance projects and pilot programs.”

Endowments are funds used by non-profit organizations to further their work. An endowment differs from other types of funding in that the principal of the fund is not spent.

Interest the endowment earns from investments is used to provide funding for various purposes and provides a stable income for a non-profit organization such as the Y. The Horizon Endowment is open to all individuals, corporations, foundations and service clubs who believe in the mission of the Y, who have seen or experienced the impact YMCA programs have had on people’s lives, and who want to ensure that these YMCA programs are available for future generations in our Northwoods community.

There are many ways to contribute to the Horizon Endowment. Your financial advisor will work with you to create a giving opportunity that speaks to your unique desires. Your Horizon Endowment donation will be a gift of a lifetime-building a better community today and in the future.

For more information about the YMCA of the Northwoods or the Horizon Endowment, call Laurie Schlitt at 715-362-9622 ext. 106.
