Rhinelander Veterans of Foreign Wars are looking for bingo players
Ray Rousseau VFW Post 3143, located at 120 Park Street, Rhinelander, would like to remind our bingo customers and friends that our regular Wednesday night bingo sessions will be starting up again Wednesday, Oct. 2 and will continue every week thru the last Wednesday in April.
Due to sewer construction, bingo will not start up until October this year instead of September.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the cards will go on sale at about 5:30 p.m. Early bird bingo starts at 6:15 p.m. and regular bingo starts at 7 p.m.
Prize money pays from $30 per game up to $500 for the Jack-Pot game, depending on the amount of players.
Refreshments are available in our kitchen, managed by the military support group. Bringing in food and drinks is not allowed. Please support the kitchen.
Workers are dedicated unpaid volunteers who do this so we can help support veterans and our community. Some of the organization that we help are: both food pantries, Salvation Army, bingo for seniors at Taylor Park, Kings Veterans Home and VFW National Home, Veterans Hospitals at Iron Mountain, Tomah, Madison and Milwaukee.
The post gave two $500 scholarships to the schools and contribute to the Oneida County Veterans Council, the Alzheimer Association, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, Camp Fire Girls and the fire department. A few more on the list are Camp American Legion, Camp Tesomas, Avenue of Flags and Rhinelander Ice Association. The post also works with the military support to send care packages to our troops “in harms way” on the last Saturday of each month.
