This is it – what not only Downtown Rhinelander Inc. has been waiting for but the whole Northwoods community…PotatoFest, Saturday Aug. 31.

For months DRI and Tri County Council-Lily’s House has been putting together this event and it is going to be fabulous! I feel confident in saying that there is something for everyone, young and old, male or female. So stop by Trig’s Greenspace on Courtney St. FREE ADMISSION – for an hour or all day, after all it’s YOUR festival.

POTATOFEST SCHEDULE
8:00 a.m. – Masonic Lodge Potato Pancake Breakfast & the Farmers Market Opens

8:30 – 10 a.m.- Litl Miss & Mr Potato Sack Outfit Contest, Littlest Spud Race, Tator Tot Parade

10 a.m.- YMCA Couch Potato Race

11 – 1p.m.- Mad Dog & Merrill

11:45 a.m.- Potato Mountain Golden Potato Dig

12 p.m.- Free Live Music: Tunesmith Academy, Kids Potato Sack Races, Cribbage Tournament

12:30 – 1:45 p.m.- Adult Potato Sack Races, Hodag Spud Sling, Mashed Potato Eating Contest, Kids Potato Sack Races, French Frying Eating Contest featuring Sherriff Grady Hartman and Deputys

2 p.m. – Free Live Music: Scott Kirby & Friends

2:45 – 4 p.m. Potato Peeling Contest, Tasty Taters Potato Salad Winner Announcement

4 – 5 and 6 – 7 p.m. Live Music: Combo Kings

7 p.m. – Hodag Spud Sling

8 – 11 p.m. Free Live Music: The Dweebs (True Dweeb followers always dress like a dweeb).

Don’t forget there will be great food such as; Baked sweet potatoes, Gnocchic, perogies, Trig’s Potato Brats, Chocolate Potato Cake, Mashed, Twice Baked, donuts, Kettle Corn, Shaved Ice, Smoothies, Lemonade, etc. And vendors too; wood crafts, cooking utensils, pet items, Hodag items, body products, BBQ sauces and more.
