Northwoods Expressions: Join us to celebrate the Northwoods with music, stories and poems
People show their appreciation for the Northwoods in different ways. Some write, others sing, yet others tell stories. Whatever it is they do, now is the time to share it.
Community members, visitors, and children of all ages may participate in the second Northwoods Expressions outdoor open mic event. The event will take place Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m.
It is being held west of Rhinelander at the Perch Lake shelter.
Do you have a passion for bugs? Can’t stop writing about our beautiful lakes, rivers and wetlands? Or would you like to share a story about your grandma’s and grandpa’s ‘Up North’ cabin?
Then let people hear about it. Stories, poems, and songs should be no longer than 10 minutes in length, have a Northwoods theme, but do not have to be original (please give credit to the original artist).
Bring a chair, blanket, a beverage and join the fun around the fire.
Directions to Perch Lake Shelter are: from Hwy K turn south on to Washburn Lake road; take the first left on to Trout Lake road; and then the first right on to County Park road.
This road will end at the shelter.
This event is brought to you by Oneida County Land and Water Conservation Department, Lumberjack RC&D and UW-Extension.
