Y offers bus trips to western Wisconsin and UP
The YMCA of the Northwoods is offering two different excursions this summer. The first bus trip is to Fanny Hill Dinner Theater, Eau Claire, and the Leinenkugel Brewing Company, Chippewa Falls, on Thursday, July 25. Participants will enjoy lunch, theater entertainment and a brewery stop. Fanny Hill Dinner Theater will be performing the musical “BINGO.”
A lunch of chicken cordon bleu, fresh garden salad and dessert will be served.
“If you haven’t been to Fanny Hill you will enjoy the summer beautiful gardens overlooking the river, delicious food and professional musical performances,” trip coordinator Marilyn Duschl said. “We have people return year after year because they are never disappointed.”
On the return trip, the bus will stop at the Leinenkugel Brewing Company in Chippewa Falls for shopping and beer sampling.
The coach bus will pick up passengers at the Y in Rhinelander at 8:30 a.m. and will return to the Y at approximately 8:30 p.m. The cost for the lunch at Fanny Hill, theater ticket and brewery is $76. Register by July 19 by calling the Y at (715) 362-9622. YMCA trips are open to anyone in the community.
On the second trip, travelers will experience an adventure to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where they will take the “trammers” tour of a historic copper mine at the Adventure Mining Company in Greenland. There will also be a guided tour of Lake of the Clouds in the heart of the Porcupine Mountains, lunch at Silver City overlooking Lake Superior and an opportunity to walk the streets of Ontonagon.
This is a full day of adventure but only moderate walking. The bus will depart from Rhinelander at 8 a.m. and from Eagle River at 8:30 a.m. The bus will return around 8:30 p.m.
The cost of the trip is $65, which includes bus and tours. Lunch is on the individual.
