A close look at a unique insect
Gary Garton of Rhinelander recently shared this photo. “The black-winged damselfly is a delicate, colorful insect which is somewhat unique with the black wings,” Gary wrote. “When they fly, they have a fluttery appearance and seem to be somewhat clumsy but are still very delicate. Most damselflies have clear wings like their close relatives, the dragonfly, but the black-winged is an exception.”
