The Nicolet College Foundation recently presented the Friends and Partners Award for 2013 to Dr. Paco Fralick for his work helping the college establish an academic program to train dental hygienists and assistants.

“Dr. Fralick has been invaluable to the implementation of the dental programs at Nicolet College,” said nominator Lenore Mangles, dean of health occupations at Nicolet. “He has set up systems for its continued support by offering not only classroom, lab and student space, but clinical space for our students as well.”
Along with assisting Nicolet, Fralick also led the effort to establish the Peter Christensen Dental Clinic in Lac du Flambeau. The state-of-the-art facility opened earlier this year.

Nicolet students in the college’s dental hygienist associate degree and dental assistant diploma programs split their time between classes on the Nicolet Campus and at the clinic in Lac du Flambeau.

“Dr. Fralick had a vision for a dental clinic that would not only serve the community with dental service but would also provide physical space and equipment for dental assistant and dental hygiene students,” Mangles said.

She also commended Fralick for his work in helping the college receive academic accreditation from the Council on Dental Accreditation.
