Area teens are invited to participate in the Beneath the Surface Summer Reading Program at the Rhinelander District Library now through Aug. 16.

Teens are given a goal to read 10 books from the library’s vibrant Young Adult collection and complete five library-related activities. Those who achieve the goal will be entered in a grand prize drawing.

The program will also include special events:

• Thursday, June 27, 5 to 8 p.m. – Beneath the Surface Teen Night. Book jacket bingo, CD art and refreshments will be available.

• Wednesday, July 10, 1 to 4:30 p.m. – Game Day. Wii games, board games and real life Angry Birds.

• Thursday, July 25, 1 to 4 p.m. – Poetry Exploration. Participants will explore poetry with a splash of color.

• Thursday, Aug. 1, 1 to 5 p.m. -Teens Pick Movie Day. Teens are asked to vote for the movies they would like to see.
