Airplane! co-director/co-writer Jim Abrahams is set to appear along with Wisconsin Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett at a special free screening of the classic 1980 comedy Airplane! on Friday, June 28, at the Vilas Theater, located at 216 E. Wall Street in Eagle River. The evening will begin with a 5 p.m. reception, and a screening of the film will follow at 6 p.m. The event is free to attend.

The event is co-sponsored by the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce, Discover Mediaworks, Conway Theaters and Vilas County Tourism & Publicity. Refreshments will be provided by Sprecher Brewing and Trig’s.

Seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Advance tickets (limit of four per person) are available at the theater box office during regular hours or at the door the night of the event.

Donations will be accepted, with proceeds divided between the Angel on My Shoulder and The Charlie Foundation charities.

Angel on My Shoulder is based in St. Germain and has been supporting cancer patients and their families with a variety of programs since 1995. The Charlie Foundation was established in 1994 by Jim Abrahams in order to raise awareness about the Ketogenic Diet as a treatment for childhood epilepsy.

For more information, contact the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce at (800) 359-6315.
