It is time to get nominations in for the fourth annual City of Rhinelander Yard of the Month contest. This summer program will honor two winners during the months of June, July and August.

The purpose of the Yard-of-the-Month awards is simply to inspire residents to maintain attractive and appealing front yards throughout the community. The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce believes that an element of friendly competition will enhance the sense of community pride that has existed in Rhinelander for many years.

The two categories for yards include a Traditional Yard and Blooming Yard. Both categories require homeowners to be in good standing with the city of Rhinelander and have no code violations with the city or county governments. Homes must be located within the Rhinelander city limits to be eligible to participate. The Traditional Yard of the Month award will be given to a well-manicured and attractive- looking yard. The Blooming Yard of the Month will go to a yard that meets the same requirements but also has an element of flowers, shrubs and other items to make the yard distinct and unique. Winners will receive a $50 credit to be applied to their water bill from the city of Rhinelander.

Nominations for the City of Rhinelander Yard of the Month may be submitted to the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce either by phone at (715) 365-7464 or by email at info@rhinelanderchamber.com.

The Master Gardeners of the North will provide the judging committee each month.
Anyone with questions may contact the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce. This program is sponsored by the City of Rhinelander, Master Gardeners of the North and the chamber.
