Obituary: Louise M. Bastian

Louise M. Bastian, 87, of Rhinelander died June 10, 2013. She was born Sept. 12, 1925, in Rhinelander to Clifford and Gladys (Smith) LaVoy. She is survived by her husband, Robert; five daughters, Mary (Michael) Denis, Diane (Gordon) Gilman, Christine (James) Bourcier and Susan (Dennis) Edwards, all of Rhinelander and Laura (Dale) Kerchefski of Stevens Point; a son, Lee (Kim) Bastian of Rhinelander; a brother, Arthur LaVoy of Rhinelander; two sisters, Phyllis Hamann of Milwaukee and Lois Terzinski of Rhinelander; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed her flowers and bowling, and her greatest joy came from her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 14, at 2 p.m. at Nativity of Our Lord Parish/Saint Mary’s site with Fr. Tom Thakadipuram officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Carlson Funeral Home and from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be in Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery. A memorial is being established in her name and may be directed to her family. (Carlson Funeral Home)
