The Hodag is about to become even more famous, thanks to CMJ Productions II Inc. of Quebec, Canada. On Saturday, June 15, a production crew from CMJ Productions will be at Pioneer Park in Rhinelander to film a re-enactment of Eugene Shepard’s display of the Hodag at the 1896 Oneida County Fair. Gerry Shidell and Steve Richardson will perform the re-enaction, presenting the filmmakers with their take on that long-ago display of the Hodag. To make the re-enactment complete, a crowd of spectators is wanted. According to Shidell, those who would like to be present at the filming are welcome to show up at Pioneer Park at 11 a.m. that day.

The crew will film the re-enactment for an installment of Boogeymen, a Canadian travel series focusing on small towns that have adopted monsters as their mascots. The television show will be aired on Canadian television. According to CMJ’s website, the company’s programming has been sold to and broadcast on international networks such as History Channel US, Investigation Discovery US, Discovery Health, Mystery Channel and others.
