Obituary: Allen J. Rude

Allen J. Rude, age 74, of the Town of Harrison, died Friday, May 24, 2013, at his home. He was born Oct. 12, 1938, in Rhinelander to Alvin and Eva (Clure) Rude. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vivian Rude; his son, James Rude of Rhinelander; two sisters, Eleanor (James) Bowman and Louella (Thomas) Deutschman both of Minnesota; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Rude served with the St. Paul, Minn., National Guard unit for seven years. After returning to Rhinelander, he was employed at Print Pack for 25 years. He loved playing horseshoes and was a state champion in his category for several years. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Peter Korthals officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Carlson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church. Inurnment will take place at Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Allen’s name for the benefit of the Zion Ev. Lutheran Church S.O.S. Fund.
