The Children’s Summer Theatre Workshop will be held at Campanile Center in Minocqua July 8 through 26 for students in 3rd through 8th grades. (Children younger than 3rd grade will be considered on a case- by-case basis.)

Children will learn the basics of the craft of theatre and they will get the chance to produce a play for the public. Gail Petersen, a local community theatre actor/children’s theatre director and music teacher, will lead the children through three weeks of drama games, instruction in proper voice projection, body exercises and improvisation, as well as learning to tell a story on stage. Finally, the kids will produce and perform the play Aladdin on July 26-28.

The play works best with around 30 actors. The workshop was almost at maximum capacity last year, so early registration is encouraged.

The tuition for the three-week experience in $195 per child. Those interested in learning more may contact Campanile Center at [email protected] or (715) 356-9700.
