Free bike maintenance clinic May 14
A free bike maintenance clinic is scheduled for May 14, 5:30 to 8 p.m., at Marshfield Clinic Woodruff Center as part of National Bicycle Month.
Professional bicycle mechanics from Chequamegon Adventure Company will be on hand to teach participants how to fix, maintain and improve their bikes. When bikes are well maintained, they’re more enjoyable and safe to ride than when neglected.
Andy Teichmiller, owner of Chequamegon Adventure Company, will lead the session.
Topics to be covered include how to fix a flat; tuning shifters, derailleurs and brakes; fixing a broken chain; installing accessories; and swapping out worn components.
Additional topics covered will be based on participant interests. Those planning to attend don’t need to bring their own bikes.
The Marshfield Clinic Woodruff Center is located at 1446 First Ave. (Hwy. 47), Woodruff. For more information call Teichmiller, (715) 356-1618, or log on to www.paddlerama.com.
