Letter: Learning and fun environment not centered on killing by June Lego and Helen Creglow
Editor:
A well-written article by an NCSS student raises questions about the choice of subject in a “fun game – The Werewolf Game.” The werewolf’s job is to “kill off a player each night” and the game apparently goes on to “kill a person of his choice.”
We believe students and teachers can use “fun games to get together and enjoy themselves,” but surely there are games not related to killing. The terrible news stories of humans killing other humans which we hear and read about almost daily are about enough! Students do not need to play games about killing, even if it is just a fantasy game about werewolves.
