The YMCA is hosting its monthly “Lunch & Brain Games” on Wednesday, May 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rhinelander facility.

Brenda Peltier, enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Ojibwe tribe, will be sharing information and artifacts from her Ojibwe culture. Brenda grew up on the Turtle Mountain Ojibwe reservation in the north central part of North Dakota where her mother and siblings still remains. Brenda and her family moved to Rhinelander 15 months ago from St. Paul, Minn. where she worked as a school principal for almost 16 years. During this time, she was the principal of the American Indian Magnet School for 8 years.

The program is free and open to anyone in the community. The theme for the pot luck is “ethnic foods” and those who attend are asked to bring a food from their culture. For more information, contact Marilyn Duschl at (715) 362-9622 ext. 118.
