Date changed for tornado drill due to weather
Due to various storm warnings throughout the state of Wisconsin, the National Weather Service has postponed the statewide tornado drill for Thursday, April 18.
The date of the drill has been changed to Friday, April 19 and will take place at 1:45 p.m. At this time, a statewide mock tornado watch and a mock warning will occur. Many radio and TV stations will participate in the drill. In addition, NOAA Weather Radios (Emergency Weather Radios) will issue alert messaging.
This is an ideal opportunity for schools, businesses and families to practice safe procedures for severe weather. The drill will take place even if the sky is cloudy, dark and/or rainy. If severe storms are possible Friday, the drill will be cancelled.
