WPS to restore local power outages today

Heavy wet snow and sleet this weekend has caused power outages in the Northwoods with the hardest hit areas in Lac Du Flambeau, Boulder Junction and St. Germain. WPS has brought in additional power restoration crews from other company locations to restore power as soon as possible.

WPS expects most power to be restored by Monday, with hopes of having most restored by early to mid afternoon. The heavy wet snow has caused pine tree branches to bend, break and fall into power lines, disrupting electrical service.

WPS advises everyone to stay away from locations that involve power lines and tree branches. Call toll free WPS Emergency at (800) 450-7240 to report outages.
