The Business Professionals of America (BPA) student club at Nicolet College will hold a fund raiser for Special Olympics Sunday, April 14, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hodag Lanes in Rhinelander.

The event will include raffles and bowling for $5 per person, with all money raised staying in the Special Olympics local region including Oneida, Vilas, Forest, Lincoln and Langlade counties. Children ages 5 and younger bowl for free.

BPA students are coordinating the event as part of a learning project that combines classroom instruction and community involvement.

“Service learning projects such as this are an important part of a Nicolet education,” said Jolene Johnson Van Den Elzen, business technology instructor and BPA advisor. “It combines classroom learning with a very worthy community cause.”

Monetary donations and donations of tax-deductible raffle items will also be accepted. For more information about the event, contact BPA member Vicki Hunter at (715) 499-1290.
