The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Wisconsin Chapter is hosting the 11th Annual Memories and Melodies Benefit Dinner and Dance Saturday, April 20, at Holiday Acres Resort in Rhinelander. A social hour with music by Dave Drivas begins at 5 p.m., followed by a plated dinner at 6 pm.

Following dinner, guests will be treated to an uplifting presentation by Lynda Markut, caregiver, educator, storyteller and author of the book Dementia Caregivers Tell Their Stories: A Support Group in a Book.” Lynda will share valuable insight about the importance of humor in life and the importance of laughter to well-being. More highlights of the evening include basket raffles, a jewelry raffle, sportsman’s raffle, dessert auction and silent auction. Music by Dave Drivas will continue until 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $40 per person or $75/couple and may be purchased by visiting alz.org/gwwi and clicking on “special events” or by phoning the Alzheimer’s Association Rhinelander Outreach Office at (715) 362-7779.

Funds raised will support programs and services of the Alzheimer’s Association, including information and referral, community workshops, professional training, safety services, research and a toll-free 24-hour helpline that can be reached any time at (800) 272-3900.
