The YMCA of the Northwoods is sponsoring the annual Teen Character Awards Banquet to honor area teens who exemplify the core values of the YMCA of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Nomination forms are available at the YMCA, James Williams Middle School and Rhinelander High School, NCSS and area high schools in Northland Pines, Lakeland, Three Lakes, Tomahawk, Phelps, Crandon, Laona and Wabeno. The nomination form also may be printed off the YMCA’s website, ymcaofthenorthwoods.org. Completed forms should be returned to the YMCA no later than April 19.
Area judges will select the 20 top teens to be honored at the awards banquet, May 21, in Rhinelander.

To be eligible for nomination, teens must be between the ages of 12 and 18, currently enrolled in an area middle or senior high school, or home schooled or attending a local private schoo. They must reside in Oneida, Vilas, Forest or Lincoln county. Anyone 12 years old (and in middle school) and older may nominate a deserving teen.

The YMCA is also looking for corporate and table sponsors for the main event. Sponsors will receive tickets to the banquet and recognition in our teen character program and throughout the night.

For more information, call the YMCA of the Northwoods at (715) 362-9622.
