Wausau Lyric Choir celebrates 40 years with Campanile performance

The Wausau Lyric Choir is celebrating 40 years with a special performance on Sunday, April 14, at the Campanile Center for the Arts. The concert will be a celebration of the choir’s 40 year history. “Most of the program we will perform is ‘singer’s choice’,” said Lucinda Thayer, choir director. “Current choir members voted on their favorite pieces, and the top vote-getters comprise the concert program.”

Another highlight of the concert will be the performance of “Together in Song,” a celebration of community singing. Composer Gweneth Walker’s “Together in Song” is a selection of traditional spirituals for chorus, piano, brass quintet and percussion.

The Campanile Center is located one block west of southbound Hwy. 51 on Milwaukee St. in downtown Minocqua. For more information, go to campanilecenter.org or call (715) 356-9700.
