Sheriff Grady Hartman has announced that Lead Corrections Officer Keith Fabianski has been awarded the “Jail Officer of the Year” award by the Wisconsin Jail Association on Wednesday, March 20. This award recognizes the jail officer who engenders credit and honor to their facility and career, displaying leadership and involvement in facility and community activities.

Fabianski was nominated for the award as a result of showing outstanding leadership in 2012 while supervising corrections officers who had to respond quickly to prevent suicidal inmates from causing themselves great harm or death. Sheriff Hartman stated “I am very pleased for the award received by Lead Corrections Officer Fabianksi and he is commended for his leadership and commitment to his assigned duties in the Oneida County Jail”.

Fabianski has been a Lead Corrections Officer for Oneida County since August 1999 and has previous experience in the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He also works as an instructor for Nicolet Area Technical College in the Criminal Justice Program and is certified as an instructor in a variety of skills by the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
