Obituary: Theodore Davis Sr.

Theodore “Ted” Davis Sr., 92 of Rhinelander, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at his home. He was born Oct. 3, 1920, in Edgerton to Harvey and Marie (Willie) Davis. He is survived by three children, Sonja George of Newport News, Va., Richard Davis of Orlando, Fla., and John (Linda) Davis of Rhinelander; three sisters, Jean Disrude, Shirley Oestrich, and Sally Dukes; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; three children, Sharon, Sue Ann and Ted Jr.; three sisters, Mary Ann, Maxine and Nancy; a brother, Stanley; and a special friend, Lela Sackett. He served in the Army during World War II and later re-entered the Army as a career serviceman. His military service totaled 23 years and also covered the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired as a Sgt. 1st Class. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, March 30, at Carlson Funeral Home. Military honors will be provided by members of V.F.W. Ray Rousseau Post 3143. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Forest Home Cemetery.
