Obituary: Collin E. Gilman
Collin E. Gilman, 70, of Rhinelander died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at his home. He was born April 8, 1942, in Rhinelander to Malvern and Viola Meisler. He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons Mark, Russell, Joe (Renee) and Tony (Maggie) Gilman; “daughter” Brenda Hoffhein-Peter; brother, Bob Gilman; brother-in-law Don Richter; sisters Dory Hoffhein (George), Bev Keso (James); seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Joyce; brothers-in-law George Hoffhein and James Keso; and sister-in-law Jean Gilman. Mr. Gilman was a veteran of the Vietnam War and member of the 173rd Airborne Brigade and received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Air Medal. He owned and operated The Old Brick Inn, the Pied Piper in Rhinelander, Fun Time Coaches bus service and Gilman Trucking Company. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 20, at 5 p.m. at Hildebrand-Russ Funeral Home with Deacon Mike Harvey officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of service.
