Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest (CNNF) soil scientist Dave Hoppe has been chosen as the Field Soil Scientist of the Year. This national Forest Service award recognizes Dave for his two decades of outstanding work toward field soil science. Dave will travel to Washington, D.C in May to receive the award.

Dave was chosen out of numerous nominations from across the country. “We are very proud of Dave and his accomplishments. His contributions as a professional soil scientist and pioneering work have added great value to land management practices nationwide,” said Forest Supervisor, Paul Strong.
