Zion Lutheran School’s “Kids for Christ” recently delivered a cash donation to Frederick Place shelter.

The students collected baked items and sold them to Zion School students and staff, and sold them in church. Most items were sold for 50 cents each. Their efforts from Feb. 18 to 26 generated $530.

The students and their advisor, Deb Treder, came to Frederick Place this week to deliver the check, along with extra baked goodies.

Tammy Modic, NATH executive director, explained to the group that their $530 donation would allow Frederick Place to provide shelter, food and basic necessities for all 13 current residents in the house for 24 hours. Frederick Place has 16 beds and serves people who are experiencing homelessness in Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Oneida and Vilas counties.

Frederick Place continues to operate through material and financial donations, and numerous volunteers. For information or to help support Frederick Place, contact Tammy Modic at (715) 369-9777.
