Rhinelander Waste/Wastewater Utility posts running water notice
The City of Rhinelander has recently announced that beginning on Jan. 7, Utility customers that have experienced problems in the past with water pipes and sewer lines freezing should start running water with approval in advance by the City. Only customers that have been specifically instructed and approved to let water run by the Utility will be provided the utility cost credit allowed for this activity. A listing of approved customers allowed use of this activity can be found at City Hall (135 S Stevens St) as well as the City website.
When approved, running water can be provided 24 hours a day, in a stream the diameter of a pencil, from one faucet in order to protect the utility lines from freezing. The City of Rhinelander will give further information at a later date when frost subsides. At that time, the approved activity (and credit) will end.
