Township of Crescent -On December 10, 2012, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, along with members of the Northcentral Drug Enforcement Group (NORDEG) began an investigation involving the use and delivery of controlled substances, specifically heroin.

Events leading to this investigation included the possible drug overdose death of David M Stahl, age 30 in the Township of Crescent. Individuals involved in the use of controlled substances surrounding Stahl’s death continue to be interviewed. As a result of this investigation, Jennifer K. Heiting, age 26 of Saint Germain was arrested for: Delivery of Heroin, Conspiracy to Deliver Heroin, and Possession With Intent To Deliver Heroin.
Individuals involving the delivery of controlled substances resulting in death can be charged with First Degree Reckless Homicide, a Class B Felony. Toxicology results obtained from Stahl will not be available for several weeks, at that time a decision regarding potential charges involving Heiting and any other individuals will be finalized based on the results.
This arrest is part of an ongoing controlled substance investigation by the Northcentral Drug Enforcement Group (NORDEG) Task Force. Participating agencies in this investigation included the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the Rhinelander Police Department, the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office, the Oneida County Medical Examiners Office and the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office.
