Obituary: Robert N. Fischer

Robert N. Fischer, 83, of Rhinelander, died Dec. 5, 2012, at his home. He was born March 5, 1929, in Antigo, to William and Beda (Bergman) Fischer. He is survived by his wife, Esther; his children, Liz (Al) Reischel of Rhinelander, Julie (Tim) Towne of Wausau, Bill of Oshkosh, Cathy (Dennis) Ice of Amarillo, Texas and Patty (Russ) Crane of McFarland; six grandchildren; and a brother, William (Janiece) Fischer of Tomahawk. He was preceded by his parents; a brother, Hartwig; and two sisters, Frances and Marcella. Robert served in the Marines from 1953 to 1955. He was a teacher and a coach for Tomahawk High School for four years, then worked at the Rhinelander Paper Mill for more than 20 years before working for Twist Drill until his retirement. A memorial service will be Tues. Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. at Hildebrand-Russ Funeral Home. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. until the service starts.
