Holiday Expressions Rhinelander Food Pantry fundraiser
The 7th annual Holiday Expressions, a fundraiser for the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry, will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, at Holiday Acres Resort. Last year, a record amount of $11,500 was raised with the help of business sponsors. Members of the local Newcomers & Friends Group will again help host the event.
This year’s event features holiday decorating ideas, a demonstration for a hanging evergreen pouch, homemade gifts, a themed “birch and boughs” area with items to take home, re-gifting table, homemade candy and cookies, appetizer samples and the opportunity to take home a holiday table centerpiece. Attendees are encouraged to talk with the demonstrators, visit their tables, and get ideas for the upcoming holiday season. Bring a camera to capture all the ideas.
A raffle will again be held, with prizes from local artisans. A complete 12-place setting holiday table will also be raffled off. Tickets can only be purchased at the event and winners need not be present to win. The drawing will be held at 2 p.m. that day.
“The idea of the event is to compliment, not compete, with the many other shows on that opening deer hunting Saturday. The ladies really enjoy this stop on their day out,” commented Rhonda Jicinsky of Holiday Acres Resort. “Lunch is also part of the fun. A plated lunch will be served in the Three Coins Dining Room from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pick up some holiday ideas and contribute to a good cause.”
This year, $500 major sponsors are Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital, Kohl’s, Rhinelander GM Toyota, Rhinelander Woman’s Club, Superior Diesel and Holiday Acres Resort.
Patron $250 sponsors are Aramark Uniform Service, CoVantage Credit Union, North Star Steel and Wausau Paper Company.
Friend $100 sponsors are Associated Bank, Boyd Financial Metlife, Seventh Day Advent Thriftshare, People’s State Bank, Park City Credit Union, Ponsse USA Inc., Dr. Dave and Eileen Cattau, Dr. Bill and Gloria Gustafson, and Sandy Bergman.
Merchandise for the table-setting raffle was donated by Forth Floral, Trig’s Floral, Walmart, Saint Mary’s Gift Shop and Parsons of Antigo, Eagle River and Crandon.
