Have you ever wanted the skills to learn how to save a life? The YMCA of the Northwoods will hold an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course Nov. 9-11 and 16-17.

Partcipants will learn lifeguarding skills; CPR for adult, child and infant; how to use an AED; and first aid skills. Participants must be at least 15 years old, must be able to swim continuously for 300 yards and tread water using legs only, and must be able to swim down at least 15 feet, pick up a 10-pound brick from the bottom and swim 25 yards. The program fee is $180 for Y members and $230 for non-Y members. The program fee includes a lifeguarding book, certification fees and cards.

For more information on lifeguarding classes, call the YMCA at (715) 362-9622, ext 111.
